SDCopy: Error "Input/output error" encountered while setting HFS meta data

I have a problem in that SuperDuper failed to smart update to a network-mounted sparseimage in the last few days. The log shows:

I tried repair permissions with Disk Utility, and it ran successfully. :)

Then I tried repair disk, which failed midway. :(

I also tried to move CoreServices (on the sparseimage) to Trash, but Empty Trash complains some files are in use and would not purge them.

Please help!

It sounds like the image is damaged, chienr. If it can't be repaired with Disk Utility (and you can't repair it on the host volume), I think you'll have to delete it and start again...

chienr 04-16-2006 01:54 PM

it's what I feared...

Thanks for the quick response! It's what I feared because a full clone took over 16 hrs last time (one of the downsides of cloning to sparseimage on network). I'm off to start it now.. thanks!

No problem. One option: create the initial sparse image locally and copy it, once done, to the network...
