Image size
Hello,
At the company where I work, we've been using Norton Ghost to create image files for our test PC running Windows. As we are doing more developement under OS X (Yeah!) we were looking for a similar solution for MAC, and SuperDuper came highly recommended. However, I can't seem to reduce the size of the image file we are creating. For example, a 20 GB partition of Vista will give an image of 3 GB, where I'll have about 6 for OS X. Is there something I may have overlooked in the options, or is OS X more difficult to "shrink" ? Thanks George |
Sparse images aren't compressed at all, George. If you use a read-only image, you can control the compression -- the options we provide are those given by the system, so perhaps it is more difficult...
