Smart Copy problem
I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem with Smart Copy, backing up to a sparse image. The copy runs to completion, but for EVERY file copied, the log shows an entry such as:
WARNING: Caught I/O exception(5): Input/output error WARNING: Source: /Users/appelman/Documents/TaxAuthorities/MDresidentbook.pdf, lstat(): 0 WARNING: Target: /Volumes/Backup3oct07/Users/appelman/Documents/TaxAuthorities/MDresidentbook.pdf, lstat(): 0 Attempting to copy file using copyfile(). Attempting to copy file using ditto. Successfully copied file. The resulting log file is 6 MB! I'm running SuperDuper 2.1.4 with OS 10.4.11 on a G5 iMac. (DAVE: I know we've discussed this, but I am curious to see if I am alone in having this problem.) Evan Appelman |
For those who are wondering what's going on here, we received errors writing files to an image in this case. We retried with two other APIs, and the third indicated success, so we continued... the problem here is that the third API is not properly reporting the error...
