Help - Trying to restore from USB2 drive back to local drive
Right.. small issue.
I ran superduper (2.5) to clone my macbook's local hard drive to a USB2 drive, as I normally do for a backup. I then powered down my macbook, took out the local hard drive, and inserted a shiny new bigger one. I then powered up the macbook, and it booted happily off the USB2 drive, as expected... this is where I am now. However, after using disk utility to partition etc the new local drive, if I try and use superduper to copy all the data back to the new local drive, I get the following log output: | 09:50:09 PM | Info | SuperDuper!, 2.5 (84), path: /Applications/SuperDuper!.app, Mac OS 10.5.2 build 9C7010 (i386) | 09:50:09 PM | Info | Started on Fri, May 23, 2008 at 9:50 PM | 09:50:09 PM | Info | Source Volume: SimonBackup, mount: /, device: /dev/disk1s1, media: Maxtor 3200, interconnect: External USB, file system: "Journaled HFS+", OS: 10.5.2 (9C7010), capacity: 120.00 GB, used: 103.15 GB, directories: 177558, files: 893850, ejectable: NO, ACLs: Enabled | 09:50:09 PM | Info | Target Volume: NewDisk, mount: /Volumes/NewDisk, device: /dev/disk0s2, media: ST9200420AS, interconnect: Internal SATA, file system: "Journaled HFS+", OS: N/A, capacity: 150.00 GB, used: 0.09 GB, directories: 9, files: 44, ejectable: NO, ACLs: Enabled | 09:50:09 PM | Info | Copy Mode : Erase, then copy files | 09:50:09 PM | Info | Copy Script : Backup - all files.dset | 09:50:09 PM | Info | Transcript : BuildTranscript.plist | 09:50:09 PM | Info | PHASE: 1. Anyone have a fix for this? It would be nice to get this data copied back, and the laptop running off the (new) local disk :) |
