Just finished migrating to a larger drive... a few questions

I just used SD to copy my 320GB boot drive to a 600GB harddrive, which is now the new boot drive. Just got a few questions:

1. Everything seems to be working fine except that now the Finder would "flash" once when the system boots up. I don't know exactly how to describe this, but the menu bar and all opened Finder windows would disappear for like half a sec and then re-appear - is this "normal"?

2. I had a small partition for Windows on my old drive... just wondering if I really need to re-install in on the new drive or if there is a way to move it across?

3. I have also moved a backup drive to an external firewire back which I do not turn on all the time. However I have set a couple of backup schedules and it seems like if SuperDuper fires up on the scheduled time and the drive is not turned on, I am not able to make SuperDuper to quit, whether by pressing the red button on the upper left corner or by command Q.

Many thanks for your help in advance.

I don't know why Finder would flash, no - but does it do it if you start in "Safe Boot" (Shift held down from power on to the desktop)?

We don't copy Windows partitions, but you could try to use something like Winclone to do it.

Try pressing Cmd+s before quitting SD! in the "drive missing" case.

many thanks for the super quick response - that's pretty amazing.

I wanted to try doing the safe boot, but I can't shut down/restart as superduper won't quit (and cmd+s before quitting doesn't work either). Do I have to force quit?

Sure, force quit - shouldn't hurt anything.
