SmartUpdate is SuperSlow
Hey,
I've backed up my entire drive of around 300Gb to a Network Sharepoint. However when the schedule comes round with Smart Update, it seems to start off from the beginning again - as it takes forever. My connection averages around 12 to 15MB/s, and it takes around 8 to 9 hours to do a backup. As far as I'm aware, it was nearing the end of a backup a while ago - but then for some reason the schedule kicked in - a full 6 hours after it's meant to and seems to have undone what just took it 9 hours to do. I haven't turned this MacPro off in around 3 days because I'm waiting for these backups to complete / 'SmartUpdate'. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Or is this just how it is? Thanks for the help, -Van |
What OS are you running?
|
Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.1

That's why. Our Leopard update will fix this.

Righty,
Is there a timeframe for that release? |
See the blog, lots of information there...

Ok,
I've downloaded v2.5 and am beginning to run SmartUpdate again. Let's see how this goes! |
Seems to work very well!
