Preserving Authorizations/Permissions

Will SuperDuper! maintain authorizations/permissions etc. as part of its Cloning operation in order to restore the entire working OS to the original drive in case of corruption or related OS problems - as opposed to simply being able to boot up, but still needing to re-authorize all the applications being used before getting back to work.

I am a happy user of SuperDuper!, but found that I was unable to answer a friend's inquiry who is trying to decide between SuperDuper! and other Cloning applications.

Thanks.

If the activation system is based on tweaking low-level disk structures to squirrel away hidden information, we won't copy that -- we simply copy files, with appropriate permissions/ownership/etc, from source to destination.

I've certainly seem some activated programs work across that kind of copy, but some don't. There's not much we can do about that... if it allowed that kind of copy, it wouldn't be much of a copy protection system.

Most companies are good about this kind of thing, though, and will let you reactivate without any trouble.
