Back up a network volume to a local volume

I would like to back up a volume on my network to an empty hard drive mounted on my main computer. I'm running SuperDuper on the main computer. So the source volume will be the network volume that I'm sharing and the destination volume will be a disk image on the empty hard drive mounted to the main computer. I wasn't able to find out exactly how to do this in the SuperDuper help documentation. Is there a way to do this?

Sorry, we can't do this.

Workaround

I had the same issue -- wanted to image the volumes on my older Mac to an external drive on my new Mac while running SuperDuper! on my new Mac. What I ended up doing was running SD (older version, available for download) on the old Mac and doing the imaging from there. I chose to move an external drive to the old Mac for the process, but I imagine you could run SD on the old machine (if it's a Mac, of course) and backup its volumes over your network to the desired target. I would think that for a 1-time backup the free version would suffice.

No, Irl: this isn't going to work: earlier versions of SD! also cannot back up from a network volume.
