a (hopefully) simple question

I understand I can use Super Duper to make a full copy of my hard drive so I can restore it if it fails. But can I also use the backup copy to restore, say, individual documents or photos that may have disappeared from my hard drive? Is Super Duper overkill for this? Thanks.

Not at all. As explained in section 4 of the user's guide, restoring individual files or documents is *easy* -- you just browse for them on the backup, using the Finder, and copy them back... easy as pie!
