smart update><copy newer.
I did a full back up. I then decided to delete some folders from the source drive which had been backed up on my destination drive (backup). I want to keep the folders on my back up. Which back up option do I use?
I understand with the smart update SD will erase any file/folder not on the source drive, is that correct? so in essence I should use copy newer as long as I want to keep the folders on my destination drive ? Thanks, Jesper |
You should not combine an 'archive' like that and a backup. It'll make it near impossible to restore.
Instead, move your 'archived' folders to a separate archive partition or drive, and continue to maintain your backup with Smart Update... |

One more question.
So do I start over with my back up drive: Make 2 partitions; one for SD and one for archive? Jesper |
You may be able to partition it live with Disk Utility in 10.5 or later...
