I am having the same "failed to mount" error on a 2.16Ghz Intel iMac 21", OS X 10.4.9

I can't use the alternative method suggester either, as after selecting the mounted volume instead of the disk...

hmm, not having any luck with the log – I updated...

hmm, not having any luck with the log – I updated the app earlier today & the log is of that. When I go to "scheduled copies" the log button it greyed out. Anywhere else I should look for it?

Aha! It was in the /Volumes like you said in a folder with the name of my external disk, "External Drive". 11GB of it! There was also another folder, "External Drive2", with only 5MB, which I deleted...

You're a star, Dave. Today I finally have the all-SuperDuper! backup solution running flawlessly. It was the "replace" button that scared me off when I tried that before – maybe something to tweak....

First off - love 2.0. The fact that scheduling multiple backups at the same time makes them run back-to-back is absolutely amazing and makes the backup far more efficient than I had it before...
