Copy Files reporting doesn't reflect what's on disk (2.7)

Copy Files stats don't reflect what's on Time Machine HD (2.7)
I'm nearly 36 hours into a copy of a 1.5 TB Time Machine backup drive onto a new 3 TB drive. So I've had plenty of time to watch the Copy Files dynamic report.
