then scheduled a backup one minute from "now"
I still did not work.
The ran crontab -l on terminal and saw this

Thank you for the suggestion. I just returned again to this problem after being out on a long business trip. I'll begin investigating "cron" daemon otherwise known as the system scheduler.

the boot drive name on the desk top is "Betelgeuse" and the back up is from Betelgeuse to a drive whose name on the desk top is simply "Backup". In what way would the drive names be involved?

I know I am doing something stupid but...its been about a year and I am at my wifes 24 inch IMAC running 10.4.11 and I am unable to get the schedule backup to work, still...I am were I was a year...

Yes if I do a copy now command it works fine. Just to check my state of sanity I have two identical Imacs in an office. Two users so they have some variations but the systems are setup the same....

I have returned to try to fix the schedule issue I tried to fix a month or so ago. I did last leave off with you asking what my drive names are. I just got through deleting all of the superduper...

Yes I have tried setting it for a few minutes ahead and waiting and I have done this while also changing a few variables that can be changed, like turning off SD.
Energy saver is set to never sleep...

I have superduper on a dual core mac running 10.4.10. It ignores the scheduled smart backup activitiy. The copy now type backup works fine. The resulting drive is bootable and seems to function as...
