Again Dave - thanks.

I agree about the "overlapping extents" issue not being a SD! cause.

It sure would be nice (if there were just a few overlapping extents) for Disk Utility and even Drive...

Dave: Thanks much for responding to my issue. Seriously, your words give me comfort.

I do have a followup for you though. When cloning or even doing a smart update of a 'live' volume to another...

Question Converting TM backup direct attached volumes to network attached volume such as TC

There's a strong case to be made for a utility that will convert Apple's Time Machine backup disk formats between what's used for direct attached and network attached volumes.

The format used for...

Hmmmmmm

I see no harm making enquiries about when SD! will become compatible with Leopard. It a very human thing to want to do - especially if you're running Leopard as many folks are now.

Leopard...

New Year maybe

I sense strongly it will be in the new year at this stage. 10.5.2 is out shortly (maybe late Jan) and that may hold up SD! for Leopard. Apple is still tweaking TM.

David:

For planning purposes is it reasonable to expect SD! update for Leo build 9A581 compatibility to be out by Dec 1, 2007 ? Thanks.... :)

Incidentally, Leopard's Time Machine can recover from a system interruption and continue on from where it was interrupted suddenly. Apple did a smart thing having this feature IMO. :)

Wow - that was fast reply ;)

Will that also cover the system interruption case. I mean, will there be any corruption as a result of a hard crash while SD! is writing the clone ?

Stopping and Resuming SD! clone activity

One feature I'd like to see SD! offering is the ability to pause/stop it during a cloning operation and at a later time resuming it.

Why?

1. Cloning can take a long time and uses a fair amount...

Rithban:

In both cases the boot from this FW ext...
