Thanks for the quick feedback.

So in my case I should use SuperDuper to create a bootable clone of the internal HD on the External HD. This would be just that, a clone. Then at my yearly archive point I would, as normal burn my archive to DVD, at least once, store in different locations and that's that?

Buying the uprated version od SuperDUper will add scheduler to the system, meaning once set up and installed I do nothing until my yearly archive come around?

(Oh, before you say it, I back up my CF card negatives to DVD on import too, so when I start working on them they are on DVD, on Internal HD and cloned to External HD)
