You don't want to restore to a "new" Mac (recent one) from Tiger, because it can't run Tiger. I'd suggest clean installing Leopard back to the new MacBook Pro, then -- when first prompted to copy from another Mac -- copy from either a full "Backup - all files" of the old unit, or go from the old MacBook itself.
