Smart Update to a external HD on a different Mac.
I purchased an HD with enough space to back all Macs. Originally, I connected the HD directly to a Mac, performed a Smart Update disconnected the drive and moved on to the next Mac. The external HD now has 5 different sparse image files.
This isn't efficient. I figured that since I can connect the HD to Mac#1 and the mount the HD on Mac#2's desktop and copy files, maybe I could start Smart Update on Mac#2, point to the external HD and update M#2's sparse image. Is this possible?? As I am writing this, it working!! But before now, I got a mounting error. Any thoughts? |
