Booting other machines from SD backup?
Can an SD backup on a Firewire drive boot machines other then the one which is backed up? For example, suppose I want to use a tool (like DiskWarrior) to repair another machine. I can boot my own machine from my SD clone and perform a repair, but can I boot another machine?
Another way of asking, I suppose, is to ask if the drivers and support files are unique to each machine, or if each machine's OSX version can boot all "previous" machines. Thanks. Last edited by Zarkov; 12-05-2011 at 02:08 PM. Reason: Misspelled word |

A given OS is relatively universal, and should boot any Mac that supports its OS version.
