"this is the alert panel text" modal dialog on autostart
After I plugged in my hard drive a moment ago, and SuperDuper! autostarted to do a backup, a modal dialog appeared that said "this is the alert panel text". A second later, the dialog was replaced by the one explaining that a scheduled backup was going to start in 10 seconds.
That seemed strange. :-) |

That does seem unusual. A modal dialog, vs. a sheet?

Erm, actually it was a sheet! I just called it a modal dialog because I think of sheets as the Mac equivalent of them.

OK. So, two sheets came down - one with a weird generic note, and then one with the real text?

I think so, yes, although it happened quickly, and I can't quite remember whether it was one sheet after another or whether it was one sheet whose text got updated.
