Are you running this during the first boot startup, Laura, or after you've booted and set things up?

Hi Dave,
I had already got the computer up and running. I was hoping my tech guy would set it up for me, but I guess he's out of town and I couldn't wait to try it out. Anyway, I'm running Migration Assistant after the fact... |

OK.There might be some significant differences between the initial first-boot run and the way it works after you've totally installed.
What I'd suggest is using your your restore DVD to get back to a clean state, then try the migration during the first boot. I think you'll find that works...
