I have a couple of backup drives I rotate. I usually backup once a month or so (I know, I should do it more often).
So that I know the date of the backup on the drive I have the drive "Backup 2008-02-09" (for a backup done on Feb. 9, etc.). If I were to use the backup as a startup drive then I would rename the volume to the name of the source drive (in my case, Macintosh HD). Also, I put a yellow sticky on the drive and record the latest backup date. Pretty high-tech, eh? |
