(Thanks for the quick replies.) But no... After I repaired permissions on both disks, I did reset the 'original OS' and the 'OS Backup' through Open Firmware. Still, the OS is not responding... (I think, in the end, I wil have to reinstall the G5 which isn't a disaster really because I'd like to reorganize the workflow between my dektop and my new Powerbook.) In the meantime, I did a fresh install of OS 10.4.5 and created a Sandbox on this Powerbook (G4, 1,5GHz). Both systems boot succesfully. Tom |
