didn't quit active processes
My user group tech gurus tell me that I should be sure to quit active processes before cloning my volume (SD resides on the volume with the active processes). So, I usually go into activity monitor and quit things I recognize as being unnecessary (background scanning to see if I hook up my printer, for example).
Sometimes, however, I forget to quit active processes (forgot to quit activity monitor today after using it to shut down the other processes). How big a problem is that? Should I redo the clone (I'm generally using smart update) if I forgot to shut down an active process? And - unrelated - where does the log for SuperDuper! reside? (the one in ~/library/application support is not the one now being used by the app, as it hasn't been updated in a year.) Thanks. |

Not a big deal at all, actually. Don't bother re-doing the copy unless you get an error.
SD!'s logs are inside its settings package(s). You can Cmd-click the title bar of a log to see its full path.
