Hi! From Apple:

"To use a volume to start up an Intel-based Mac, choose the GUID partition scheme. To use a volume to start up a PowerPC-based Mac, choose the Apple partition scheme."

A "partition table" is basically a low-level structure on your hard disk that tells the OS where to find the "volume", which is the "disk" you see in Finder.

"GUID" stands for something like "Globally Unique IDentifier" (similar to UUID which stands for something like "Universally Unique IDentifier"), and is just the term The Powers That Be use for the constructions of the partition table that's used with Intel Macs.

Smile thanks

Hi
thank you for your answers. So, since I don't have an Intel based computer I should not be concerned with this GUID thing.
But now I know it !

good day to you !
