Permissions repair necessary before cloning?
Dave,
I have a sandbox configuration. Each week, and a few days after each system update, if the sandbox is running well I Smart Copy it back to the full volume. Then, I clone the full volume to an external disk. I always repair permissions on the sandbox before copying it back to the full volume, since the sandbox is the active, running system. But I've always wondered whether it's necessary to repair permissions on the full volume before cloning it to an external disk, since the full volume isn't actively running OS X. What say you, Dave? |
