Forever long backup of large disk

I want to do automated backups and I have set SuperDuper to backup my image drive (the one I shoot to daily) to create a duplicate of it at night. Normally I'd just physically copy the job to the backup and then again to a second backup but sometimes you'll make changes and forget to update the backup.

The problem is it's taking forever. So far it's been 6 hours and the status bar hasn't moved and it's copied 300gb of files. I have about 1.7TB on this drive and I tried it yesterday but after 12 hours had to quit as it hadn't made a dent. Does SuperDuper have a limit? How long will this take?
