Why is there no way to schedule a backup for the fifth week of the month? For example; this month and May have five weeks in them. Was that an oversight?

We included "week" 5 in week 4. Basically, our week "ranges" are:
Week 1: Days 1-7 Week 2: Days 8-14 Week 3: Days 15-21 Week 4: Days 22-31 (cron doesn't allow us to literally say "second monday", so the date range was the best we could do)

Wouldn't that mean you could only schedule a backup that would kick off twice a year? I think the purpose of a 4th week of the month is so you can schedule a monthly backup ...

Dave, thanks for that clarification about the "4 weeks", I mildly wondered about how the last 2 or 3 days of each month (exc. Feb.) were taken care of, but assumed it would all work out.
Richard!, I don't understand your question. If you, for example, schedule backup on Saturday at 11:59 pm of the 4th week of each month, you'll get at least 12 backups per year, maybe more (if SD! allows 2 backups in one "week"), because some months have 2 Saturdays in the "4th week", such as this coming April. I schedule backups every day at 9:30 PM (I'm not a computer nut, like my sleep), which means 365 per year. Does that help? Dale Meyn. |
