My Backup Keeps Indexing!

I noticed after a backup yesterday that my SuperDuper backup drive was indexing. After looking through the forums I saw that all I had to do was to include this drive in the Spotlight Preference pane as a drive NOT to index.
After doing this, indexing of the backup drive stopped. However, after shutting down and logging back in the drive was again indexing. I've never seen this behavior before; I've had SuperDuper since 2010.
