How do I create backup scripts?
I have three different backup operations I perform on a weekly basis.
Backup iMac internal drive to iMac Backup Backup Master external drive to Master Backup Backup Vault external drive to Vault Backup The iMac is not on 24/7; I put it to sleep at the end of my work day. Same for the Master external drive. The Vault external drive is only on when I need to access it. The Backup drive (which has 3 partitions: iMac Backup, Master Backup, and Vault Backup) is only on when I need to back up. Since these drives are not always on, I can't create an automated backup schedule. However, I'd like to create a script so that when it's time to backup, I can just turn all the drives on, then run the script (which would do all three backup operations) and walk away. How do I do that? |
