Argument list too long - HELP!

Tried backing up my entire hard drive, something I do monthly. This time I have this error, which I don't know how to solve:

| 10:19:47 PM | Error | SDCopy: Error copying /Volumes/MacHD/Applications/Parallels Desktop.app/Contents/MacOS/launcher to /Volumes/Edmiston-500.02/Applications/Parallels Desktop.app/Contents/MacOS/launcher of type 8 due to error 7: Argument list too long

Does anyone know how to get around this?

Thanks

Forgot to add, this object is a file, not big, not sure why it would be "too long"...

/Volumes/MacHD/Applications/Parallels Desktop.app/Contents/MacOS/launcher

As I explained in my emailed support reply, this is because you're backing up 10.8.2 from 10.6 (or 10.5, I can't remember now). The file system has features that the old OS can't deal with.
