Usiing scripts on non boot drives?

I was trying to clone an external non-boot drive and have it ignore just one folder. But it only seems to list the items on the boot drive in the "items to be excluded" list, when I go to set it up.

To be clear, I am not trying to clone the boot drive. I am cloning one external to another. But the only options for files folders to exclude seem to be a list of files and folders on the boot drive.

Am I missing something?
