Confused on how to restore a back-up to a new Mac
Hi there. A friend of mine had his MacBook Pro's hard drive crash. Luckily, he made daily full copy "smart" back-ups of his drive by using Super Duper.
Right now he has a new Mac and the external back-up drive with all his data. The question is, how does he get his old data on the new Mac as smoothly as possible? I'm fairly fluent, but drive stuff confuses me, so pardon the nooby effect . Would this be a matter of starting the fresh new Mac and selecting "Transfer data from an old Mac in Target-disk mode" (of course fooling the Mac into thinking the Super Duper backup is an old Mac)? Or would this be done some other way entirely? Thanks for any help. Mike. |
