Booting and Running from External HD clone
Seeking thoughts on booting from and running from my external HD clone, in a Live Performance situation. My drive is a Maxtor 200Mg firewire. Laptop is iBook G4, 1.33 Mhz, 768Mb. Currently running OSX 10.3.9.
I am a professional Musician/DJ and am using Native Instruments' TRAKTOR DJ STUDIO, which is a DJ mixing software program. I intend to upgrade to LEOPARD shortly, but the TRAKTOR software is questionably (if at all) compatible with LEOPARD. My question is: are than any performance, processing, etc. concerns to consider with booting to the external HD on the gig, but booting to the old OSX 10.3.9 and running from the external clone? The TRAKTOR software is pretty processor-intensive. Thanks in advance! Jim L. |
