How does SuperDuper! compares the copied files with the originals?

Hello!

I'm wondering how does SuperDuper compares the copied and the original files.

I have read some (old) threads about reported differences between original and backup-ed file, as well as some (very old!) threads where something like checksum for each and every file was totally refused due to the immense task of work that implies.

Nowadays the Macs are blazingly fast and some other backup-solutions (Carbon Copy Cloner) are using this already by offering checksum-comparaisons.

That's why I wonder if there is some similar method that SuperDuper! applies (now) in order to prevent data corruption during the backup AND to give the user the possibility to recognize something like this when happened.

Regards,
Vlad

We base our copies on whether the dates, times, sizes, attributes (including EAs), etc have changed. We do not compare the file contents.
