Little Snitch

I've searched a couple of threads here and seen different answers here, so it begs asking the question again.

Booting from my SD backup I get a Little Snitch warning that goes something like this - Someone is trying to modify your settings - then - Continue or Use Defaults

Upon restoring my entire disk, are my LS rules going to get trashed?

Clearly, Little Snitch is detecting that the files have been moved. I assume that "continue" will OK its use of the "changed" (not really) settings?

OK thanks again Dave - that's TWO today!

On my way to wiping my internal out and reformatting as GUID now... and restoring from SD! A scary proposition but seems all should go well.

What I found was that if one just hits "continue" (rather than "use factory defaults") - Little Snitch seemed to be OK, however I did encounter a problem.

Somewhere along the way settings got skewed and I had to go into LS and individually reset "Block" rules and "Allow" rules on a number of applications.

Two apps I encountered today that became disconnected/disabled were Speed Download and SendIt. They would no longer connect. Once I individually edited their rules in LS and linked them back up to their locations in the Applications folder, all was fine. I was also able to see a number of other ones that had broken links, and clean them up was well.

I also seem to be missing some widgets now, but no big deal, that could have happened somewhere else.

You might want to ask the Objective Development guys about this; I know they use SuperDuper!, so perhaps they have an explanation...

Any word from Objective Development?

igirl, if you contacted Objective Development, please let us know what you found out.

I'm about to swap in a new cloned boot drive, and it would be nice to know in advance how to best handle Little Snitch.

Thanks,

-- Ward
