I'd have to agree that HD choice can be very subjective depending on past experience. Back in my Windows days IBM drive earned the dubious title of Death Stars, yet in my own personal experience with these drives I never had a failure.
I do question the wording of your poll though. Are you looking for recommendations / experience with the hard drives themselves, or for the enclosure. For instance I have a couple of OWC enclosures, one single drive enclosure, and the other a dual drive enclosure. I know the single has a Maxtor, because I installed the drive. I purchased the dual drive from OWC with the drives already installed and can't recall their make. So would my OWC enclosure / Maxtor drive, qualify as Maxtor or other? I'm not knocking the poll, just trying to clarify what information your looking for. |
