Weirdness after Tiger Upgrade
Hi, new member here...
Just upgraded to Tiger, did a complete clone using SuperDuper, then erased the target disk and used the Tiger installer to move my apps, etc back over. No problems with that process... But now I am getting funny behavior from SD. I saw the answer to one of my issues posted (the "could not disable ignore permissions"). So thanks for that... The other issue is a message received during the "repair permissions" phase: "parent directory ./user/shared/SC Info does not exist" Any ideas as to what this is all about, and what the implications are? thx |

Hm. No -- repair permissions is Apple's own code running "behind the scenes", and I'm not sure what that message means. But since the drive you're running from sounds like it was erased, and you started from scratch, it's probably nothing to worry about.

Just FYI: the "/Users/Shared/SC Info" directory apparently contains a file with info that iTunes needs for authorisation. They are both created when you first authorize your computer to play a song bought from the iTMS.
So, as Dave said, nothing to worry about. Both directory and file are normally hidden, though, so it's a bit strange that a repair permissions in Tiger now draws attention to their (non-) existence... |

Thanks for that info, "darelon"!
