3 Questions About Cloning...
As luck would have it, I cloned my G4 iBook the evening before its hard drive failed. Can I drag-and-drop the cloned files from one external drive to another so that I will have two copies of the iBook? Or does the cloning have to be done by SD! in order to work?
I don't know whether the new drive will be returned with a system installed on it (Apple is doing the repair under an extended AppleCare warranty). If it comes back without a system installed, can I clone the external volume to the bare drive or should I install a system first and then use SD! to return the iBook to its original state?
Finally, how much extra space does SD! require when performing a Smart Update on a nearly-full external drive partition? I made my partition 30GB in order to match the drive in the iBook, but the partition has only MBs of free space remaining and cloning stalls part-way through the process due to a lack of free space.
