Eject all external drives, then open the hidden "/Volumes" folder using Finder's "Go To Folder" command. You'll find a folder named the same as the external drive. Delete that folder, then restart, and you should be all set.
If the folder isn't there, just restart and the bad "mount point" will be cleared by the system.
