Lessons Learned?

Given all the hard work that went into allowing SD to play nicely with a Time Machine drive, is there any way to either use SD or for you guys to consider creating a side applet to migrate a time machine backup to a new location? (ie network sparseimage, new time machine drive that isn't an empty drive (specific folder), etc)

? After reading through hundreds of forum posts all over the Internet, people seem to be crying out for a time machine history migration tool and no such capability exists outside of

1) restore to a completely new drive using disk utility
2) if you own a Time Capsule, the new airport utility will migrate to a USB disk attached to the time capsule.

We're happy to move it to a new drive of the same type, but not to a network drive from a "direct" backup -- it stores things a bit differently.
