super duper blocks

While doing back up as detailed in previous post from a macbook to an iomega 500gb hard disk (partitioned), having patiently waited for backup to finish at 2.75mb/s, I have just realized that the backup operation does not progress beyond 30 771 files.

Any ideas please

Simon

It's likely still going, Simon: if you "Get Info" on the volume, is the free space changing?

Very strange, after two attempts and the process stopping at 33 000 files and not moving for two hours, my third attempt is already at 255 000 files (out of 1/2 million) after 45 minutes. The only thing I have done is to write files to the other partitions on the disks to back up certain documents (and place the disk vertically on it's stand lol).

I don't understand but I'm not complaining.

Thanks
