recommended FW harddrives ?

Good day,

Some time ago I read a list here somewhere for recommended FW harddrives ?

I have to buy a new one for my WD Mybook was unable to connect via FW when my iSight camera was also plugged in (via FW). They had some batch on their site but it didn't work anyway. Thank God I did not have an emeergency to start up from the clone!

Which should I consider?!

In general, I don't recommend MyBook drives. I'd suggest this LaCie drive which is a good drive at a good price point, or one of its different capacity cousins.

I have half a dozen self contained FW Lacie's of various vintages for personal use and every one has performed flawlessly. I have a few more in my office, and some other brands are scattered around as well, and I think we've had several problems with just about every other brand sooner or later except those.... so a strong second to that recommendation.

Will second the OWC recommendation. I have five or six at the present time, and all play nice with SD.
