SuperDuper! 3.3 APFS conversion
Converting backup drive to APFS. Will this erase the drive or adversely affect the data on the drive? Anyone know?

Converting, if successful, should have no affect. It's done the same way Apple did it originally, with the same tool.
If the conversion fails, though, you will have to erase the drive as APFS and recopy.

Followed your directions "APFS Conversion Required" in SuperDuper to reformat my LaCie external drive, until I got to the "Choose GUID partitioning.... No option for GUID partitioning APFS formatting in my disk utility. Tried to use the convert to APFS command under the EDIT menu.. failed Got a message: A GUID Partition Table (GPT) partitioning scheme is required. I am unable to partition the drive at all. Any suggestions? Thanks, Jesper Running Catalina 10.15.1 SuperDuper V 3.3.1(121) |

It's definitely there, Jesper. You have to choose "GUID" under scheme FIRST (the 2nd pop-up), then choose APFS (in the first pop-up).
