backup wont start...
Hi,
I am using a Lacie FW HD and the backup schedule wont start if the HD is in "sleep" mode (i.e the plates are not spinning). I was working at the time so I am logged in and the computer is active. the only time the backup started is when I opened spotlight to search for somthing which tirggered the ext HD and then SD! started but didn't start backing up until I pressed 'copy now". Also, there is a need to login when the computer resumes from sleep. this will probably prevent from the backup to start. wont it? any ideas? migo Last edited by migo; 07-24-2007 at 08:06 AM. |

A "sleeping" drive won't stop SD! from copying: we don't interact with it at that level. It should just wake up. SD! doesn't even "think" about the drive until it's started...
And, yes, you can't have a "wake" password if you want SD! to backup when it's sleeping -- see the Scheduling section of the User's Guide for a full discussion...
