Different space left on the original and target ?

I have posted this before, and thanks for your feedback. But i still dont get it.

233 gb = left 74,74 gb
backup disk 233 gb = left 69,75 gb

Why is are there not the same space left on my master and target drives, i have restarted and deleted the trash !!

Does one have Journaling on and one not?

They are both extended (journaled)

I don't know, Morten. We're copying the files that are there, as files. Why they'd be taking more or less space has to do with the way the OS is storing them. But we're not skipping them, or parts of them, nor are we adding to them...

I'd expect that to go the other way, macfeller -- you'd end up with less space on the source than the destination, not the other way around.

Just a thought (because it has happened to me, tho' not having to do with S/D.) Are you sure both drives really ARE 233 gb, or are they both called that or 250 or some such? I ask because right now, I have three supposed 60 gig drives, from three manufacturers, all formatted the same by the same OS, and they are all different, ranging from a formatted low of 53.7 gigs to a formatted high of 57.8. Disk Utility will tell you what they actually are. (And if they actually both ARE 233, then i'm sorry to have wasted your time.)
