"Failed to Enable Ownership"

I just installed SuperDuper on another machine of mine and tried to do the same sort of operation I do all the time on my main computer but keep running into this "Failed to Enable Ownership" error every time.

SuperDuper is attempting to backup to a Disk Image on network storage. I'm using the same backup settings that work on my main machine and it stops me at the "Preparing ___" step. Both are running Mac OS X 10.4.11 and the latest version of SuperDuper.

We're aware of a problem on some Tiger systems; a tool we use to determine the state of ACLs is returning an I/O error. We are currently testing a fix, which should be released as soon as we're sure we've caught this and any other "teething problems"

I think the exact same thing is happening to me, too. Tried rebooting, nuking the volinfo file and rebooting, repartitioning, you name it.

I'm a software developer and confortable with the Unix prompt, so I'm happy to run some commands or diagnostics if it helps.

It won't help, Luis: it's a bug in fsaclctl, a command-line tool under Tiger. You can see it yourself with:

Code:
sudo fsaclctl -p /Volumes/Backup -d
It returns an I/O error under 10.4.x on some systems (like yours) when it shouldn't.

Working on it. You can use 2.5 or 2.1.4 until we get it taken care of.

I have the same problem, but I'm running Snow Leopard, and the latest vers of SuperDuper. I have succeeded to backup to an external but for some reason, it was wiped of all Data at some point and now won't back up, returning the same error as above.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.
