SuperDuper and FileVault'ed folders
Hi,
I use the OS X FileVault capability to have my home directory encrypted. My home directory contains a great deal of data, as well as a number of Parallels virtual machines, and thus, the encrypted image representing this vault is quite large (around 60 GB). When I use SuperDuper, my home directory is backed up as the encrypted image and not as the unencrypted tree of folders. This means that if I make a tiny change to one file, the image changes and SuperDuper must backup this entire multi-GB file, taking a huge amount of times (several hours). Do you have any advice on how to manage the situation? If possible, I would like to retain the FileVault capabilities. Thanks. Best Regards, -g |
