Something weird happening on attempting to back up System drive?
Hi all, I hope you can advise me. I've been trying to back up my system drive from one internal drive to another on my Mac pro Ver 1.1 with Lion O/S. (Both drives are 500GB). The problems are:
1. section 2 S/D Effective copy speed is incredibly slow 0.08 MB/s & so far it's taken 57 minutes 22 seconds to copy 255 MB. and for the third time it has stopped copying and put up a Dialogue box with the following message: "The Disk was not ejected properly. If possible, always eject a disk before unplugging it or turning it off. to eject a disk, select it in finder and choose File >Eject. The next time you connect the disk, Mac O/S X will attempt to repair any damage to the information on the disk" 2. The destination disk icon has disappeared of the desktop and doesn't show in Finder either. As it's an internal disk this is quite a mystery as I verified the disk in utilities and it was OK no faults. Anyone got any ideas as to whats happening? Any help will be much appreciated Regards Denis |
